Recreational students who hope to progress to the next level are required to participate in an annual assessment or examination.

Students who would like to train seriously towards a professional outcome are encouraged to have chat with the Director. Training required in addition to those already in your level, will be discussed.

Elite students are required to take a graded examination per year/ every second year (depending on the level), to progress to the next level.

Assessment/Examinations

IDA  has an in-house ballet syllabus for each level. To progress to the next level, an assessment or graded examination must be passed. 3 industry professionals – a dance reviewer, a working practitioner and a respected senior teacher/examiner, will be on the marking panel. These individuals will change each year.

Assessments/Examinations are necessary to gauge improvement, level and standard in a measurable way.
